Kushal Patel

Managing Attorney

Kushal Patel is the founder and Managing Attorney of Kushal Patel Law, PLLC. He serves as the Chair of the American Immigration Lawyers Association New York Chapter’s Executive Committee. Kushal has extensive experience in employment and family-based US immigration, advising both corporate and individual clients on the best strategies for obtaining immigrant and non-immigrant visas. He has worked with large multinational clients, start-up companies and individuals in a range of industries including finance, construction, technology, media, academia, entertainment, medical, hospitality and travel.

Immigration has shaped Kushal’s life, his grandparents packed up their lives in India to move to Kenya and his parents did the same when they moved to the U.K. Kushal was born in London and became a U.K. Solicitor practicing U.K. immigration and nationality law before packing up and moving to New York. Having navigated the U.S. immigration system himself, Kushal personally understands the experience of his clients and makes the process as painless as possible for them. Kushal has a passion for the law and takes pride in knowing the positive impact he has had on people by helping to make their American Dream a reality.

In his free time, Kushal is a father to a rambunctious toddler, an ardent supporter of his club Arsenal, regardless of whether they win or lose, an aspiring food critic, and an avid science-fiction/fantasy reader.


Anna Coll

Senior Paralegal

Anna Coll is an immigration paralegal whose experience includes working at boutique law firms and most recently at a global immigration firm. She has supported a plurality of employment-based non-immigrant and immigrant visa petitions and consular applications for employers that range from small businesses to multinational companies. Anna has also assisted clients with family-based immigrant petitions and the naturalization process.

Raised by a Thai immigrant in the suburbs of New York City, Anna has always felt a personal connection to the U.S. immigration process. While completing her undergraduate degree, Anna interned with Senator Gillibrand’s office and helped advocate for constituents’ immigration cases through congressional means. She appreciates the opportunity to provide comfort and reassurance to clients while they undergo the complex immigration process. In pursuit of her passion for immigration, Anna plans on attending law school and becoming an immigration attorney.

In her free time, Anna likes to see live music, expand her vinyl record collection, watch films, try new coffee shops around the city, and spend time with friends and loved ones.


Sarah Torgerson

Paralegal

Sarah Torgerson is an immigration paralegal with experience working at several boutique and mid-sized immigration law firms. Sarah has experience working on a variety of employment and family-based non-immigrant and immigrant visas, in addition to naturalization casework. She enjoys helping people navigate the ever-changing and ever-complicated immigration system so that they can enjoy a more stress-free immigration experience.

Sarah was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and has lived in many different countries and states prior to settling in New York City. Her personal experience navigating employment-based immigration in different countries at a young age drives her passion for immigration law and compels her to provide the best possible services to every client at KPL. Sarah volunteers with CUNY Citizenship Now! and is a paralegal member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

In her free time, she enjoys cooking, sewing, spending time with her cat, going to ballet class, and eating delicious food.
